Dianna is playing a lesbian. I just…
I’m having a serious shallow moment over here…
"No, it’s not specifically a lesbian movie, but three of the leading characters are queer ladies. Here’s where it gets good, and where All Cheerleaders Die kicks a lot of horror tropes right in the face: their queerness does not exist to titillate any of the male characters…or male audience members for that matter. It’s simply part of the story, and drives certain pivotal plot points.” (x)
I posted my Miranda/Andy DWP epic Truth and Measure six years ago today. I remember so clearly sitting at my computer and just shaking, even though I knew nobody would be able to finish it for at least several hours yet. Terrifying. WTF, where does the time go?
I only discovered this fic a year ago. Almost a year exactly, actually. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it’s the greatest fic I’ve ever read. It’s so engrossing that I couldn’t stop reading. It’s stuck with me because I found it during a very dark time in my life. I read it. Reread it. Kept reading it. It helped. It got me out of my head. It let me live in that world for a while. And now that things are better, it’s something I can enjoy completely. It’s so beautifully written that I never get tired of reading it. I really do recommend it to everyone. Even if you never thought you shipped Mirandy, give it a go. You will not be disappointed.
Kyss Mig/Kiss Me (2011)
Mia is engaged to Tim and they seem like a happy couple. But her world gets flipped upside-down when she falls in love with her new stepmother’s lesbian daughter, Frida.
